Future Living: Pillflower World explores happiness as is measured by devotion to consumerism and modern pharmaceuticals.
In this exhibit domestic scenes are infused with scanned images of pills and tablets. Wallpaper, tiles, window coverings and bedding are imbued with digitally manipulated floral mandalas of medication. Tablets and capsules are assembled into flowers augmenting corporeal sensations in juxaposed arrangements. The installation plays with the idea that happiness may be produced through consumerism and the consumption of modern pharmaceuticals and the magnetism of their colourful, candy-like appeal.
