Jon Claytor, 'There is No Place'
Presented by: Ingram Gallery

An exhibition of new large scale figurative oil paintings by gallery artist Jon Claytor.

All new work from Claytor's new home and studio in Sackville, NB.
Interested in conveying a 'wholeness' in his work, Claytor does not
see his abstract backgrounds, his over life sized figures, nor his use of text, as parts. His desire and aim is to "Paint all of art history at once". Claytor says of the new work;

"I think the sixties generation searched for the essence of individual thing; love, death, war, peace, fame. While our generation searches for the essence of a larger whole, the essence of everything at once."
This is an ArtsWeek event.
