Holding On, Letting Go: Photographs by Rachel Girard Reisert
Presented by: Not Available
Ryerson Gallery presents Holding On, Letting Go, which pictures the backyard as microcosm for life and the larger world.
OPENING RECEPTION: Thursday, October 15, 6-9 pm
Ryerson Gallery is pleased to present Holding On, Letting Go, an exhibition of photographic works by Rachel Girard Reisert. Viewing the backyard as a microcosm for the larger world, where on a daily basis, life in various forms begins, expands, and eventually dies, Reisert considers the metaphorical possibilities of object and light, and the significance not only of what we know, but how.
Rachel Girard Reisert is an artist and educator working with traditional and digital photographic processes. Her creative work addresses the complexities of perception and meaning, and the intersection where personal experience is both unique and universal. She holds an MFA in photography from Arizona State University where she was awarded a 2007 Completion Fellowship, and a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design. She teaches photography at the University of Dayton, Wright State University and Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. Please visit www.rgrphoto.com for more information.
Ryerson Gallery is a non-profit student- and faculty-run gallery, which focuses on providing a venue for contemporary international and Canadian film, new media, and photography. The gallery is supported by Ryerson University's School of Image Arts, the Projects Funding Allocation Committee for Students (PFACS), and generous donations from community and individual partners.
