Spectrum Music to enchant, illuminate, and defy expectation. Spectrum is a collective of Toronto composers, united through a shared desire to produce and present creative music in Canada. The group is comprised of leading composers, including both established and rapidly emerging artists. Spectrum was created to amalgamate the vision shared by the artists within this collective, in an effort to bring this exciting music to the public. Each member of Spectrum is an active member of the Toronto music community and are in high demand in Canada and abroad as composers, bandleaders, and performers. The music produced by Spectrum utilizes an approach rooted in jazz and creative music to create a unique crossover genre. At the core of this group’s philosophy is the idea that the future of jazz music lies in its synthesis with other genres, and the ability jazz performers possess to use improvisation not just an aesthetic convention, but as a medium of true expression. Our Mandate is to foster unique Canadian compositions, and make this music accessible to all citizens regardless of age, race, origin, religion or financial situation, to enrich and inspire our audiences.
