Dirty Dishes
Presented by: Come As You Are
Iconic women painted on mundane utilitarian gloves
Mundane utilitarian gloves question the inherent sexism that household chores are women's work as well as a kind of wishful thinking that the stereotype 50's "ideal" woman is now just a relic of the past. The women I choose to paint on the gloves are iconic- glamorous and sexy role models of the past and present from movie stars, musicians to pinup models and burlesque stars. Here they are placed on a pedestal, displayed prominently and celebrated for their feminine glory.
