Featuring Teng Li, viola and Krisztina Szabó, mezzo-soprano
Teng Li returns to Esprit to perform Schnittke's Concerto for Viola and Orchestra. Vivier layers instruments, sung text, and recorded soun (including Martin Luther King's last speech) in a sensuous work of tremendous emotional impact. Works by Scelsi and Rea complement the program's theme through unique forms and sonorities.
