Shoot and develop your own still photographs on film!
This introductory workshop will teach you the basics of 35mm and medium-format still photography, and get you started processing and developing your own prints using the LIFT darkroom. On the first night we'll go over the basics of film stocks and exposure, composition and lighting. Participants will shoot a test roll and process it themselves. Night two will focus on darkroom skills, including chemical processes, exposure times, and print paper options. Participants are welcome to bring their own 35mm cameras for this workshop.
Instructor:
LUCAS MARTIN is an independent photographer whose work focuses heavily on the documentary image, and is a graduate of Ryerson Unversity's New Media program. Working predominantly in 35mm and medium format, Lucas adheres to a stripped down and hands-on approach to photography - using manual, non-digital equipment and involving himself in the entire photographic process, from capturing the image through to the finished print. He is currently documenting the rapidly changing city that surrounds him.

1. By TTC: There are many different ways to get to us, we are very accessible through various routes on the transit system.
Take any streetcar south of Bloor Street, eastbound or west bound until you meet Dufferin Street. Then take the Dufferin Bus (#29) northbound to Dupont Street. Get off at Dupont and walk eastbound one street to Gladstone.

Take the Yonge-University-Spadina northbound or southbound until you meet the Bloor-Danforth (St.George/Spadina/Bloor stations). Then switch to the Bloor-Danforth line and travel westbound until you meet Dufferin Station. Go to street level and take the Dufferin Bus (#29) northbound to Dupont Street. Get off at Dupont and walk eastbound one street to Gladstone.

Take the Bloor-Danforth line and go eastbound until you meet Dufferin Station. Go to street level and take the Dufferin Bus (#29) northbound to Dupont Street. Get off at Dupont and walk east one street over to Gladstone.
