Studio Tour of local North York Artists
North York Visual Artists Studio Tour and Sale will once again open its doors to the public, offering an array of original artwork from 19 well known local artists.
Our studio tour gives art lovers an opportunity to visit the workspace of our local artists, meet the artists, engage in conversation about the creative process and pick up some special treasures along the way.
We invite you to visit the 12 locations throughout North York and North Toronto. The Tour will include the studios of accomplished, award-winning artist exhibiting work in photography, mixed media, watercolour, oil and acrylics. The Tour will also include a group show and sale from 8 artists at Mitchell Field Community Centre, 89 Church Street, North York
The Tour is self-guided and admission is free. Maps are widely available at most branches of Toronto Public Libraries or can be obtained from the NYVA website at www.nyva.ca
Locations to meet the Participating Artists:
1 - Alejandro Rabazo, collection of oil paintings intensely realistic of fruit, vegetables and kitchenware
2 - Ann Katz, abstract (non-objective) work done in acrylic on canvas and paper
3 - Eric Bornstein, photography, from landscapes to figurative and
Brenda Bornstein multi media, acrylic, mixed media / encaustic; representational to abstract realism.
4 - Elaine Sugar, various subject matters, mixed media and water media, plus pottery
5 - Encarnita Gardner, Landscape Painter in oils and water media
6 - Soudabeh Majidi, variety of oil paintings of landscapes floral and pet portraits -
Farinaz Mohajer, floating necklaces with semi precious stones, crystal beed and sterling silver claps
7 - Joan McGivney, Vibrant images in oil that celebrate light, colour, form in nature and human form
8 - Josephine Latorre, Landscape Painting oils and acrylics, and Karen Latorre - Functional pottery
9 - Ingrid Kay, abstract landscapes in highly textured mood acrylics paintings
10 - Marta Alvarez, Naturalist Painter in watercolour , and Jose Cartegena, sculptural cork designs
11 - Nahid Marandi, Silk Fabric Sculpted Figures mounted in painted and framed in shadow box
12 – Adriana Toth – Watercolor, Oil on Canvas and Cement Fondue
Anne Neidhardt, Abstract and realistic paintings in watercolour and acrylics
Dana Sewell, mixed media with vivid, vibrant, highly intense colour, bold expressive brush strokes
