XPACE Opening Reception: ad infinitum, Artifice, and Giftworks
Presented by: Not Available
Opening Reception for XPACE Cultural Centre's Main Space, XBASE, and Window Space
"ad infinitum" is a multidisciplinary exhibition featuring contemporary interpretations of the monochrome. Each artist explores the formal and narrative complexities of this historically loaded and deceptively simple form.
"Artifice" is a mass of swaying synthetic hair, this absurd headless and tailless kinetic sculpture conjures images from b-rated horror movies and surrealism.
"Giftworks" A sculptural forms assemble furniture and artifact through the incorporation of his studio waste and by-products. Beginning with large forms, Jason Hallows deconstructs and remakes, resulting in objects which simultaneously increase in density as they decrease in scale.
