Presented by: WeSee Inc. Studio Reminder for Davenport Road is a visual study of how visual memory works and the objective evidence in the process of remembering. At a previous point in his career, Stan Denniston created an extensive series of paired landscape photographs called Reminders. He employed the following procedure: on occasion, in the course of his travels, an unfamiliar scene caused the recall, immediately and specifically, of a locale from his past. Denniston photographed the scene that triggered the memory, and over time, returned to the remembered site to photograph it. To avoid contrived similarities, he left the processing of the initial image until after the second image had been recorded. The two images were then presented side-by-side.
