Presented by: Scollard Street Gallery Paintings of South Western Ontario by Leonard Jubenville The interpretation of earth, sky, water, and weather from the most southerly part of Canada, is presented in the artist's new works. In these paintings, the open spaces of flat land and big sky are juxtaposed against the patterns created by humans, and are at once stirring and ordinary, joyous and sad. Driving down the 401, meandering around neighbourhood streets, or just looking at a tree, are such common acts to us as to be banal, yet these paintings of familiarity invite a contemplation of place, time, space, and change and of how these elements are intricate patterns woven into a living tapestry.
