Kathak and Tabla Workshops
Presented by: Sanskriti Arts

Sanskriti Arts brings from India the art of Tabla and Kathak to Toronto for a spectacular weekend of workshop intensives, Friday October 10th to Monday October 13th, 2008.

Get inspired by Kathaka Ms. Won Joung Jin. Ms. Jin has spent the last decade in India studying tabla and Kathak. Originally from South Korea, Ms. Jin left the world she knew to train intensively as a Kathak and tabla student in India. Due to her intense practice, she is one of the fastest Kathak dancers in the country. Her chakars (Turns) mesmerize audiences. Ms. Jin's work speaks for itself. View her performances online at www.rrmproductions.com. Ms. Jin will be teaching on all three days of the workshop.

Tabla workshops will be facilitated by the acclaimed Guru Pandit Divyang Vakil, a maestro of Indian classical music and tabla composer, in addition to being a teacher of philosophy and spirituality, Guruji is one of the few classical tabla composers in the world today with nearly 30,000 compositions to his name. He gave up his performing career about 10 years ago to focus solely on teaching and has students around the world (schools in UK, Europe, Korea, Australia and the biggest being in the US - Taalim School). Visit www.divyangvakil.com for more information and videos of Pandit Divyang Vakil.
