Presented by: Ingram Gallery Twelve new large scale oil paintings by PEI based Royal Canadian Academy of Arts member Brian Burke. Throughout Brian Burke's career, solitary figures are enclosed by loose brushwork and minimal backgrounds, engendering the twin senses of mystery and isolation. Schooled on German expressionism, with an underlying surreal idea, Burke generates expressive poetic metaphors which deal with situations of existence. In his new series, ‘Predicament’, Burke groups the individual as we travel along together.
