The Calibration of Chance
Presented by: Susan Hobbs Gallery Inc.

Michael Graham, Alison Rossiter, Shirley Wiitasalo and Laurel Woodcock

Each of the artists included in this exhibition consciously engages and embeds an aspect of ‘chance’ in the making or presentation of their work, fusing the work with a quality of the ‘intentionally unknown’. Exploring notions of both control and aleatory events, this teasing out of the unknown speaks to transcending the limits of conscious effect, while at the same time acknowledging that moving beyond the liminal, in and of itself, overturns a deliberate act, a controlled condition.
