Course Overview:
Many artists find the legal aspects of managing their art careers to be complicated and confusing. This course will educate you on the benefits of using contracts in your professional dealings; definitions of common legal words; legal words to avoid; an overview of artistic copyright; and tips for negotiating agreements that protect your interests. You will also learn about ways to enforce and protect your legal rights should you encounter problems, such as small claims court.
Topics to be discussed will include:

-Enforcing & protecting your legal rights
Instructor Bio:
Eric Boehm is an associate of Torys Technology Group (www.torys.com ), focusing on outsourcing, system development agreements, technology services arrangements and Internet and e-commerce matters. Eric has extensive Canadian and international experience advising on complex information technology and intellectual property transactions, including joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions and other strategic relationships. Eric is a registered trademark agent in Canada. Before joining Torys, Eric practiced technology and intellectual property law at an international law firm in Paris.
