Come celebrate the Grand Opening Spring Celebration of Pedestrian Sundays in Kensington Market!

Festivities include a flirty Maypole dance for adults, a giant piñata for the kids, a grand ceremony unveiling Kensington Market’s National Historic Recognition plaque, the return of the Garden Car, and a whole day full of music, dance and fun celebrating spring and the beginnings of new life.

The day's roster includes:

2 pm – 3 pm Kensington Catwalk Fashion Contest on Kensington Avenue. Create your outfit using 'Kensington Bucks' at local shops, and show off your creation at the 3 pm Fashion Show with Can-Can Girls! Bring your cameras!

3 pm – 6pm Graffiti's Matinee with The Royal Crowns

3:30 pm Giant piñata at Augusta and Baldwin

4 pm Unveiling of Kensington's National Historic Recognition Plaque in Bellevue Square Park

5 pm Historic Parade - Join a musical procession of the Market's living history. Meet the people that give it its character. Starting from Bellevue Square Park and heading through the Market.

Evening (on North Augusta):
7 pm Guh with their sweet and swingin' melodies
8 pm Maypole dance!
