A Feast for the Senses! Fundraiser for the inaugural Toronto Burlesque Festival
The Toronto Burlesque Festival Committee is pleased to announce "Burlesque A La Carte" a fundraiser for the Toronto Burlesque Festival.
"Burlesque A La Carte" offers a delightful menu of titillating performances from some of the leaders in the Toronto burlesque world including Skin Tight Outta Sight, Les Coquettes Nouveau Burlesque, Mysterion the Mindreader, Coco Framboise (of Boom Chika Boom) and Miss Mitzy Cream. Presented in the traditional style of Vaudeville performances, this delicious evening of variety will be hosted by Sexy Mark Brown (of Skin Tight Outta Sight) and La Minouche (Les Coquettes). The event will also include a silent auction featuring incredible donations from a host of sponsors, and a festive after-party to allow guests to get down and boogie with their favourite performers. All proceeds are in support of the premiere Toronto Burlesque Festival.

About the Toronto Burlesque Festival
The Toronto Burlesque Festival is scheduled to launch July 11th, 2008. This exciting three-day whirlwind of bump 'n grind is a unique opportunity to experience the best of burlesque and variety entertainment. Talent is drawn from juried applications, and each event will feature outstanding acts from Toronto locals, burlesque and variety performers from across Canada, and some international headlining acts that have earned top honours in the burlesque world.
The Toronto Burlesque Festival is the perfect introduction to a classic art form that is enjoying an enthusiastic revival. The Festival will also offer performers the opportunity to engage in the exchange of ideas and resources. Artists from several different mediums will come together at several events and workshops held at popular Toronto venues including The Gladstone Hotel, The Mod Club, The Cadillac Lounge and Aradia Fitness. About the Festival Committee
The Toronto Burlesque Festival Committee is spearheaded by members of Skin Tight Outta Sight Rebel Burlesque. Skin Tight Outta Sight has been in existence since 1998, making them one of the very first Burlesque Troupes in Toronto, and indeed, North America. They have played an active role in fostering the local burlesque community, with the founding of the web-based Toronto Burlesque and Vaudeville Alliance (TBVA) in 2003. On the international stage, Skin Tight Outta Sight has appeared for the New York Burlesque Festival, the Miss Exotic World Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, the Boston Burlesque Expo, the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival and the L.A. Rock 'n Roll Strip Show. To make Toronto's inaugural Burlesque Festival a reality, they have partnered with such luminaries in the alternative arts scene as Les Coquettes Nouveau Burlesque (of Toronto's Spiegel Show at Harbourfront, 2007), Mysterion the Mind Reader, Coco Framboise of Boom Chika Boom, Miss Mitzy Cream, Sketchy the Clown and Flarington King.

Getting there:
The Gladstone Hotel is located at 1214 Queen Street West at the corner of Gladstone Avenue and Queen Street just east of Dufferin Street. The Queen streetcar stops right outside the hotel for easy TTC access.
