A TSO Christmas
Presented by: Toronto Symphony Orchestra
Maestro Kunzel brings the Christmas season to life with help from the angelic voices of the Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus, the 80-strong Mississauga Choral Society, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and soloist Daniel Narducci.
Celebrate the season with the incomparable Grammy Award-winning conductor and “Prince of Pops”, Maestro Erich Kunzel, who will lead a dazzling greatest hits programme in A TSO CHRISTMAS.
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra, joined by soloist Daniel Narducci (baritone), the angelic voices of the Canadian Children’s Opera Chorus, and the 80-strong Mississauga Choral Society, will bring the lushness of the season to life with a song list personally selected by Maestro Kunzel.
Kunzel will treat audiences to a perfect blend of beloved carols and film and Broadway classics including Deck the Halls, Silver Bells, Jingle Bell Rock, Sleigh Ride, and You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch. And it just wouldn’t be a holiday pops concert without A Visit from St. Nicholas narrated by special guest Tom Allen, host of CBC Radio Two’s popular classical music morning show, Music & Company. For the finale, everyone can join in for a joyous Christmas Sing-along with some very special guests from the North Pole!
Erich Kunzel is Billboard's most successful Classical Crossover recording artist ever! As the force behind the Cincinnati Pops, his credits include an unprecedented catalog of 84 recordings on the Telarc label including the most recent Christmastime is Here; eight nationally televised Pops specials on PBS; and national and international appearances with the Pops including 10 Carnegie Hall concerts, two tours to Taiwan, three tours to Japan, and an historic tour to China. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the US and world musical scene, he was honoured this month with the prestigious 2006 National Medal of Arts.
