Presented by: Not Available An online art exhibition at www.marielugli.com/viaduct.htm explores the Bloor Street Viaduct The Bloor Street Viaduct, an engineering triumph over Toronto's Don Valley, will be 90 years old in September 2008. Rising 40 metres above ground, the Viaduct crosses the Don river, two sets of railroad tracks, a bicycle path, the DVP and Bayview Avenue - in total 10 lanes of highway. Linking Bloor Street to Danforth Avenue, the Viaduct also carries TTC subway trains on its lower deck. An inspiration to writers, musicians, artists, and sightseers, the Viaduct carries stories of tragedy as a "suicide magnate" and of rescue with its new "luminous veil" - the suicide barrier that will be 5 years old in May 2003.
