Canadian Filmmakers Distribution Centre (CFMDC) was incorporated in 1972 as an artist-run centre that distributes and promotes the work of independent filmmakers. The centre distributes animation, drama, documentary and experimental work, and holds a collection of over 1,576 titles. These are marketed worldwide to educational institutions, community groups, festivals, cinematheques, repertory theaters, and broadcasters. CFMDC provides financial return to artists through the sale and rental of their work, and seeks to broaden the audience for Canadian independent film.
