The Toronto Local Host for AIDS 2006 is incorporated as a not-for-profit organisation governed by a Board of Directors including leaders engaged in the Canadian response to HIV/AIDS volunteering to ensure the success of AIDS 2006. The Toronto Local Host is responsible for preparing Toronto and Canada as host city and country for AIDS 2006, as well as a number of programme activities including the Cultural Programme, the lounge for persons living with HIV/AIDS (PHA lounge), the Global Village and others.
