A site-specific installation based on Edwin A. Abbott's novel Flatland
Liam Wylie’s work explores the boundary between myth and science and how these two factions interact and overlap with one another. From Dreams I Proceed to Facts focuses this work around E. A. Abbott's Flatland, in which the life of a square’s precise, two-dimensional world is changed upon the appearance of a sphere. After interrogating the three dimensional outlander, the square is forced to re-define his notions of fact and fiction. It is this epiphany that inspired the artist.
