It's happening right now.
Breathing is difficult. Life is slipping away.
Somewhere a heart stops.
And still, there is beauty everywhere.
Take a moment...THIS IS THE THING.
An imaginary audience is Jeff's escape from the unbearable reality of sitting by his mother's side at the hospital, waiting for her final breath.
He sings and tells stories from his past: his childhood, his family life, his first brush with pop music and his subsequent desire to create and share music. All the while, the inevitable pushes him towards the truth and, ultimately...beauty.
It's happening right now.
It can't be. It is. It makes no sense. It does.
THIS IS THE THING is a one man show of stories and songs that falls somewhere between Daniel MacIvor and Johhny Cash.
