PRIMARY COLOURS PRESENTS: Lower Dens, Inoculist, Tough Knuckles, and Snakes Say Hisss!
Presented by: Primary Colours

Lower Dens [Baltimore] - Inoculist [NYC] - Tough Knuckles [NYC] - Snakes Say Hisss [Philadelphia]

LOWER DENS (Baltimore): Fronted by American folk singer, Jana Hunter, the Lower Dens have broken out quickly with mention on Pitchfork, Fader, and Stereogum. With a dusky and psyched-out fullness, the Lower Dens are taking a powerful trip this summer and reaching back out to Toronto for another night of interstellar waving. Night vibes and cowboy sleak.

INOCULIST (NYC): Through harmony and intricate musical arrangements, Inoculist crafts an uncompromising scape of eerie pop, jazz progressions, and the swing of old world rhythm and blues. Inoculist currently operates as a four-piece and has been called “somewhere between Low and the post-Vashti folkaverse-stark guitars abedded by syrupy swirls, glockenspiels, and perfect “off” guy-girl harmonies like Richard and Linda or John and Exene”. - The Village Voice

TOUGH KNUCKLES (NYC): For their first time in Canada, the very well loved and adored band: Tough Knuckles, will be making a scene in Toronto for two nights in a row. Fronted by the 'cautious headbanging' of Calvin LeCompte, Tough Knuckles give a refreshing and original thrust on the overly saturated world of lo-fi pop acts. Every review you can look for on these guys is filled with "wow's" and "amazing's"! Hell, for one of their videos, Calvin hooked up with New York based artist collective (Cornrow Rider) and filmed himself brisking around the MET and evading the hardcore security. A feat in its own. Tough Knuckles play a brand of fuzzy "no-pop" that is super infectious upon first listen, the kind of songs that sound incredibly simple but are overtly catchy and just really great. Totally recommended for lazy day listening.

SNAKES SAY HISSS (Philadelphia): The au courant qualities of their name risk making Snakes Say Hisss! invisible amongst contemporaries, but luckily, their electronic pop has real bite (so to speak). Snakes shed their skin on stage, though, trading Franz Ferdinand sheen for softer blips with the Postal Service's punctuation. Snakes have settled with fellow bands Boogie Boarder and the Huxtables in a collective called Famous Class, which includes group of other artists working in DIY media like DVDs, comics, shirts, and zines. Snakes Say Hisss open the show and set the sexy.
