WATER, Go Rivering is the greatly anticipated follow up production for choreographer and designer Sashar Zarif
WATER, Go Rivering is the greatly anticipated follow up production to choreographer and designer Sashar Zarif’s Dora Award nominated full-length presentation Choreographies of Migration.
In this new dance creation, Canadian-Iranian dance artist Sashar Zarif uses water – adaptable in shape and form - to explore the theme of identity. Water as a universal symbol is both the source of life and a source of great destruction. Zarif uses movement, sound and image to examine water as an intangible sacred world of diverse socio-cultural texture in search of a core identity common among all cultures.
Sashar Zarif Dance Theatre explores both traditional and contemporary dance styles of the Near East and Central Asian regions through a weeklong series of performances, workshops, and exhibitions as well as free events during Cultural Days and Toronto’s Nuit Blanche.
