Shadowland Theatre is creating the Ashkenaz Parade for the Festival at Harbourfront Centre this Labour Day.
Renown for its giant puppets, outrageous masked characters, towering stiltwalkers and spectacular installations, Shadowland is creating a celebration of ART for this year’s parade. We will be highlighting the many global musical and art forms that are coming to the 2010 festival.
Shadowland is looking for performers, puppet carriers and general helpers from now to the festival weekend SO COME AND TAKE PART.
Open drop-in workshops to help make puppets and parade images
At the Hungarian Cultural Community Centre 840 St Clair West
August 23 to 26 and 30 to September 1. - Attendees and Facilitators needed.
Parade rehearsal Saturday September 4 at 2pm at Harbourfront Centre, Queen’s Quay West
Parade performance Monday September 6 at 4pm. Preparation of performers starts 2pm at the Brigantine Tent, Harbourfront Centre. Parade is finished at 5pm.
